Grading Rubrics

Grading Rubric for Most Assignments:

"What does a 5 mean?"

5 - Assignment is finished. Shows complete understanding of vocabulary, themes, and sequence. Answers are in complete sentences or questions are written out.

4 - Assignment is finished. Shows general understanding of vocabulary, themes, and sequence. Answers are in complete sentences or questions are written out.

3 - Shows adequate understanding of vocabulary, themes, and sequence, and/or answers were not in complete sentences or questions are written out.

2 - Shows partial understanding of vocabulary, themes, and sequence or answers were not in complete sentences or questions are written out.

1 - Shows lack of understanding of vocabulary, themes, and sequence, and answers were not in complete sentences or questions are written out.

(Sometimes decimal points are used for grades, for example: an assignment isn't perfect, so it can't get a 5(100%), but it doesn't deserve a 4/B, therefore, the paper is given a 4.5/A-).

UPA Rubrics
UPA rubrics are usually a 4 point rubric, given to the student prior to completing the assessment.
